Just like other types of workouts, wall Pilates can be adjusted to all fitness levels.

Good-to-Have Props for Your Wall Pilates Workout
The props mentioned in this part will make you more comfortable in doing your exercise. Here are some ideas for you:
- Water Bottle
You might need some water breaks when you do long a Wall Pilates workout. If I do a 40-minute class, I always need at least one short break in the middle of sessions. - Towel
You might need it to wipe off your sweat. Well, for me my sleeve will do the trick. The less laundry to do, the better. - Cushion
Some people using cushions during certain moves can provide extra support, especially for beginners. And let’s be honest, bringing a cushion makes you feel like a true ‘Pilates girlie.’ - Resistance Bands
Adding resistance bands helps intensify exercises, build muscle strength, and increase flexibility. However, for me, my body weight is enough resistance. Hehehe… - Weights
Especially if you seriously want to build some muscle, you can add extra weight to your arms or feet. You can also use light dumbbells (or use your water bottle instead) for some exercises.

How to Stay Motivated?
No matter how good an exercise is, it takes time to show a result. You must do the exercise consistently to reap the result of your workout.
One of the effective ways to keep you going is designing your own Wall Pilates challenge. Let me give you some practical ideas:
Set your intention.
Why do you want to exercise regularly? Be as specific as you can. If you don’t have a goal, life will guarantee to get in the way and you won’t do anything about it.
My intention in doing the workout is just to maintain my health. I don’t have goals like losing weight or building muscle. If I don’t have this intention, I’ll spend my day watching YouTube videos and movies.
How about you? What do you want to achieve from working out?
Decide how often you want to do Wall Pilates.
Look at your calendar and be realistic about your time and (most importantly) energy. How often can you exercise?
Remember, you don’t need to do exercise every day to live a better life.
I suggest you choose several targets such as at minimum you do twice a week. On weeks that you feel good and have plenty of energy, you can do 5 times a week. This will leave you some wiggle room to adjust your schedule.
Track Your Progress.
Use a journal, fitness app, or printable calendar to mark off each workout.
When you track your progress, it’s healthier to appreciate yourself rather than only appreciate the end goal like losing weight.
Start Simple.
If this is your first Wall Pilates class, choose the short one. Maybe 10 minutes or 20 minutes max. Do the exercise and call it a win. Then, check on yourself, “How do you feel after the class?”
You can try longer classes like 45 minutes or 1 hour class and compare how you feel. By taking things slowly, you avoid yourself from overwhelmed, and makes it easier for you to keep going.
For me, I choose at least a 30-minute class and max. a 45-minute class. I decide on my energy level (and my mood) every time I want to exercise. By giving myself a choice, my workout feels more enjoyable.
