Spring Bliss: 30 Ideas on How to Enjoy Your Single Life Every Day

Do you think being single sucks?

Do you spend hours scrolling social media to see others having fun with their partners, getting engaged, getting married, and having children?

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. People with partners and kids don’t have perfect lives. They deal with problems just like you do.

You don’t need a partner or significant other to be happy. Enjoying your singleness is totally in your control.

This article offers 30 ideas on how to enjoy your single life to its fullest potential.

Let’s dig in.

1. Challenge Yourself to be a Plant Mama.

Spring is a time for flourishing blooms.

You can try gardening or being a plant mom.

Start small. Buy a small cactus in a pot and put it on your desk. Give the cactus a name and say hi to it every day.

If you’re up for being fancier, you can grow colorful flowers, learn about herbs, or grow your own vegetables. Soon, you can use those vegetables when you cook.

Surrounding yourself with plants will soothe your soul. You can enjoy looking at them while taking a break from your screen.

How to Enjoy Your Single Life by solo spa day

2. Indulge in Solo Spa Days.

Creating a home spa experience is a good way to enjoy your single era in any season.

Choose floral or citrus scents to freshen up your space. Feel free to spend hours on your skincare routine. Add some lo-fi background music from YouTube to complete the calming vibe.

By doing a spa at home, you have the freedom to personalize every treatment.

Or, if you don’t want to handle the details, you can opt for a hotel spa where you don’t have to worry about preparation.

Enjoy Your Single ness by watching empowering movie

3. Host a Spring-Themed Movie.

Watching movies is a great way to enjoy yourself. You can have a movie night or a movie marathon. Choose films with a spring vibe or inspiring stories to motivate you as the season unfolds.

Some of my all-time favorites are the movie Legally Blonde and the TV series Gilmore Girls.

Both are fun and empower women to take control of their lives and blossom into their true selves.

Remember to prepare popcorn and a fresh fruity drink. Or, if you prefer, make today your cheat day and enjoy some Coke.

Enjoy Your Single Life with new workout class

4. Try a New Workout.

Summer is on the horizon, which makes this the perfect moment to start your fitness journey. Your summer body is waiting for you.

As the days get longer, you have more time to try new workouts for fun. Use the spring energy to challenge yourself physically.

You can try weightlifting and hire a personal trainer for the best results.

You can also sign up for yoga, Pilates, or dance classes, where you can sweat a bit and meet new people.

Working out is the easiest way to enjoy your singleness. You’ll feel refreshed, and new ideas will pop out.

5. Explore Local Farmers’ Markets.

Spring is the time to shake things up. If you usually go to the supermarket to get your groceries or have them delivered to your place, why not go to the farmers’ market this season?

Buying things in person while talking to the vendors will be a different experience. You can enjoy fresh, seasonal products and support local farmers.

It’s always fun to try juicy strawberries and cherry tomatoes, have homemade jams for breakfast, or buy unique local products like candles and soaps.

You can also enjoy live music, and chat with friends while enjoying the vibe. It’s a good alternative to hanging out in a coffee shop.

6. Attend a Spring Fashion Show.

Attending a fashion show can be a thrilling experience for fashion enthusiasts.

Major cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Miami host glamorous runway events featuring collections that highlight the freshest colors, patterns, and fabrics of the season. Every fashion enthusiast knows that what happens at New York Fashion Week often sets the tone for what’s in Vogue.

But what if you don’t live in a big city or can’t attend an event in person? Fashionista, it’s time to be creative.

Do a quick Google search to find fashion shows that are streamed live on YouTube or the designer’s website.

You can also check out your favorite fashion bloggers and influencers. They usually share their reviews and insights.

Lastly, you can install fashion apps like Vogue Runway or Fashion Week Online to keep up with the newest shows and collections.

read books

7. Revisit Your Favorite Books.

It’s time to re-read your favorite books on a sunny afternoon, as the fresh breeze flows through an open window.

You can gain new insights from a good book every time you read it. Or, you can revisit the novels you loved years ago.

If you’d like, you can keep a reading list to stay on track.

If you’re not a fan of reading, that’s okay. Everyone starts somewhere. It’s time to try new habits to uplift your life. Start with something light like novels.

You can also adjust your reading choices to fit your needs. Type your questions into Google to find book recommendations. The time you spend reading will be well worth it.

8. Try New Spring Recipes.

If you enjoy your cooking, you can try new recipes this spring. Maybe you’ll make asparagus salad, zesty lemon herb chicken, or strawberry shortcake.

By cooking seasonally, you can vary your consumption habits and provide your body with a diverse range of nutrients. Determine what ingredients you need, and go to the farmers’ market to support local businesses.

You can also invite friends and family to a spring-themed dinner party or potluck. After hiding inside all winter, people will be more likely to want to hang out and catch up.

9. Do Spring Clean.

Your environment affects how your brain works. If you want to grow this spring, clean your space.

Giving your place a new look will inspire you to try something new and uplift your mood.

To avoid overwhelm, tackle only one room at a time. Treat it like a game, and reward yourself every time you clean one room.

The reward can be your favorite food, a manicure session, etc. Pick something affordable (so that you won’t clear your bank account) that you enjoy a lot.

Changing your home décor can refresh your surroundings. Combine spring-themed decorations like flowers and botanical prints with neutral pieces to create a balanced look. That way, you won’t need to redecorate your space every season.

do Spring Clean digitally

10. Do Your Spring Cleaning Digitally.

Your digital space also needs your attention. You can’t have a happy life if you keep consuming negative content.

The best way to enjoy your single life every day is to avoid the news. Don’t start your day with the news, and avoid spending hours watching it, as it’s often filled with negativity.

Next, check on the people you follow on social media. Unfollow people who give you a negative vibe or make you feel inadequate.

How about friends and family?

This can be tricky. Instead of unfollowing them, which might be awkward, try muting their accounts. This way, you won’t see their updates in your feed, but you can still check their posts if you choose to.

Organizing your files is also important. Look at your Google Drive and phone. Do you classify files into specific folders?

How about pictures? Save your old photos to Google Drive, and keep only new images on your phone. That way, your phone won’t get cluttered with pictures from years ago that you might not even remember.

11. Practice Mindfulness and Meditation.

This might be the least interesting idea on this list.

Who wants to stay still and focus on their breathing?

However, if you’re taking your personal growth seriously this spring, you should try mindfulness.

You don’t need to sit for hours to meditate. Start small with one minute of sitting quietly while sipping your coffee. Set a countdown on your phone—and no scrolling or earbuds. Just you, your breath, and your coffee.

Try practicing mindfulness consistently for a month and see how it changes your mood. You will notice small things and connect more with your inner voice.

Once you experience the benefits, you can have 5-minute mindfulness sessions. Gradually, increase their length as you become more comfortable. Think of mindfulness like going to the gym: The more you practice, the stronger your “mindfulness muscle” will become.

12. Start a Spring Bucket List.

If you want to enjoy this spring, make sure you have a plan. That’s why creating a spring bucket list can be fun this season.

You can mix outdoor activities and seasonal experiences. The list will give you many ideas.

Every day, pick one thing from your bucket list and make it come true. By doing that, you can get out of your routine and try something new.

Every time you check off something from your bucket list, that’s a win!

Don’t worry if you end up with a long list. A spring bucket list is meant to be fun, not a competition or a chore. If you don’t check off everything, you can save the rest for next spring.

13. Explore a Botanical Garden.

If you’re not interested in being a plant mama like in idea #1, maybe exploring a botanical garden would suit you better. You can enjoy the greenery without the hassle of taking care of plants every day.

When you’re there, you can appreciate the beauty of blooming flowers and learn the stories behind them.

Botanical gardens are also great spots for relaxation and inspiration. Bring your camera to capture stunning landscapes. Many gardens have picnic areas where you can enjoy your lunch outdoors. You can also enjoy a leisurely walk amidst the blooming flowers.

You can find information about botanical gardens online and plan your visit accordingly. Remember to use sunscreen, as the sun can be intense.

14. Try Journaling Outside.

Journaling is a great way to have a conversation with yourself. Writing with ink on paper allows you to slow down and reflect on your life.

Last winter, you practiced journaling indoors. This spring, try something different. Take your journal to the park and write while enjoying the sunshine and gentle breeze.

If writing on a park bench isn’t comfortable, consider journaling in a coffee shop with a view of greenery in the distance.

15. Learn a New Skill or Take a Course.

Enjoying your spring can be about more than having fun. Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is learn something new.

Choose something you’ve always wanted to learn: how to communicate with others, create art, code, etc.

Let’s say you’re interested in art. Why not learn to paint? You don’t need to quit your job to become a full-time artist; it’s just for fun.

Or, you can learn something related to your career. Maybe it’ll lead to a better job.

You can enroll in online courses or workshops, or if you’re on a budget, you can create your own “course” by making a playlist of educational videos on YouTube.

16. Enjoy Solo Fancy Dining Experiences.

You should be the biggest love of your life.

You don’t have to wait for someone else to treat you right. This spring, set your own standards by treating yourself to a fancy dining date.

Choose a nice restaurant, wear your best outfit, and do your makeup. Enjoy the food and make the most of the night. You can combine this with other activities from the list, like journaling. Do what feels good to you.

You could also try a variety of fancy dinners.

I treated myself to a classic afternoon tea at Pullman, which was on my bucket list. I’m a royalty enthusiast, and enjoying a fancy afternoon tea while imagining that I was a long-lost cousin of the Middletons felt delightful.

17. Explore Local Art and Culture.

People tend to go outside more in the spring, so visiting local art museums can be a good way to explore your city.

You can pretend you’re a tourist: Check the nearest art-related event or museum and go there.

If you want a bigger challenge, why not create art yourself?

Whether you have a long-forgotten hobby or want to learn something new, the fresh spirit of spring is the perfect time to start.

Check out Cameron’s book, The Artist’s Way. It will help you explore your creative side, which will require you to dig deeper into your soul. You might be surprised by what your inner voice has to say.

18. Have a Picnic in the Park.

This is a classic spring idea: Enjoy food at the park. You can do this alone or with friends or family.

The picnic can be super simple: buy a sandwich at a convenience store. Or, if you like cooking, you can make your food at home and bring it with you.

Of course, you can combine your picnic with activities like journaling or meditation. Challenge yourself to spend 30 minutes without a screen; just sit and notice what’s around you.

Enjoying the garden view under a bright blue sky will help you realize that there’s more to life than dating. Let’s enjoy your single life in peace.

19. Try Outdoor Yoga.

Another idea to try out when you’re on a picnic: Bring your yoga mat and do yoga.

Outdoor yoga has a different vibe from indoor yoga. You’ll feel that you are united with nature.

Will people stare at you?

Maybe, but who cares? Challenge yourself to focus on what you want rather than what others think.

You can also do yoga in your backyard or on your terrace. Be creative in finding outdoor areas to stretch and refresh your mind.

20. Participate in a Spring Fair.

Did you enjoy the spring fair when you were a child?

Maybe it’s time to revisit that memory.

Attend the spring fair alone or with your best friend. Enjoy rides, play games, and eat seasonal treats. For me, cotton candy is a must.

Making your inner child happy is the secret to enjoying your own company. Your inner child knows how to make you happy and what you want in life. I learned this from Finding Your Own North Star: Claiming the Life You Were Meant to Live by Martha Beck. If that sounds like your cup of tea, give it a read. It will be worth your time.

21. Take a Bike Ride Around the City.

If you usually commute by train or car, it’s time to try something new.

Take a bike ride and enjoy your city. Explore it from a different angle.

Biking is a versatile activity. You can make things fancy by buying an expensive bike or using a bicycle-sharing system. Plus, you’ll get a workout while cycling around the city.

Enjoy!

22. Attend an Outdoor Concert.

People enjoy outdoor activities in the spring. Set aside your Spotify for a day and attend a concert in person.

You can sing until you lose your voice. Go with your girls and have fun, or attend by yourself.

Recently, I attended the Java Jazz Festival 2024 in Jakarta. I challenged myself to go alone, knowing that others would come with their friends or family. It was fun to sing and dance with strangers and laugh at myself.

You can find live music by doing a quick Google search. Or, if you want to go big, find a festival like Coachella.

23. Go Camping with Friends.

Spending a night outdoors, looking at the stars, and enjoying the heat of a bonfire is quite an experience. If you play the guitar, you can sing all night.

Find adventurous friends and ask them to tag along.

If you’re not into adventure but still want to enjoy a bonfire, look for a camp resort near you. Professionals will handle the details, so you can come alone if you want.

24. Have a Kayaking Adventure.

It’s time to try different ways to enjoy nature. Kayaking might be a good idea. If you’re new, grab some of your friends to try this water sport.

Here are some basic tips:

  • Join a beginner-friendly guided tour or class. This will help you learn the basics of paddling, safety, and navigation from experienced instructors.
  • Always wear your life jacket.
  • Check the weather forecast before heading out. Avoid kayaking in strong winds or stormy conditions.
  • Bring plenty of water, and sunscreen is a must.
  • Start with calm and flat water. You’re doing this to have fun, not compete in the TV show Survivor.

25. Check on Your Goal. Are You on Track?

Spring is in Q2, which means you’re approaching the middle of the year. The beginning of the season is always a good time to check on your progress.

Are you on track to hitting your goal?

What’s working and what’s not?

Do you need to tweak your goal?

If everything is on track, good. Keep working on it!

If not, brainstorm ways to achieve faster progress.

If you don’t have specific goals, there’s no shame in that. It’s never too late to set one. There are still many months left in the year to work toward them.

26. Go to a Local Flea Market.

This is another unique outdoor experience.

Put on sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses, and you’re all set to go.

If you’re not familiar with flea markets, ask a friend to accompany you. To make it fun, bet on who will find the best vintage items at the best price.

Use your bargaining muscle to win.

Don’t take this bet too seriously, though. What’s most important is to enjoy your surroundings, support small businesses, and refresh your daily routine.

27. Participate in a Walk or Run Event.

If you need some push to prepare your summer body, you might want to join a walk or run event. This is also a fun way to network and find like-minded people.

You can do this by choosing the right event, and just showing up.

Or you can take it to a higher level. Set a target. Do you want to win? Be in the top 10? Prepare by running every day.

If you decide to compete, choose an event that takes place in the summer. Then, you can start to prepare in the spring. You’ll have plenty of time to build your running muscle.

Even if you don’t win, you’ll have improved your health thanks to your preparation. That’s a win in itself.

28. Explore a New Hiking Trail.

Or try hiking if this is a new thing for you.

Do some research to find popular hiking trails in your area. Ask a friend to accompany you on this adventure.

Some tips for beginner hikers:

  • Wear appropriate shoes.
  • Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changing temperatures. Bring a waterproof jacket in case it starts raining.
  • Bring a map, compass, or GPS device to help you stay on track.
  • Carry enough water to stay hydrated, and pack snacks to keep your energy up.
  • Pack a first aid kit containing bandages, antiseptic, and personal medications.

29. Explore Local Hidden Gems.

Do you always go to familiar places in your city? You know—the same coffee shop, the same theater, the same mall?

If so, it’s time to try something new.

Challenge yourself to go to places you’re not familiar with.

Try a new coffee shop. Get off the commuter at a station you’re not familiar with. Try a different route home. Go to a notable place in your city that you have yet to visit.

This is an easy way to have an adventure locally. You never know what you’ll find. You might encounter hidden gems or bump into someone special.

30. Challenge Yourself to Drive Without Google.

You can do this either in your city or out of town. Either way, it’ll be fun.

Enjoy getting lost and laughing yourself out of it. If you do get lost, ask for directions from a real human being. You might realize how, thanks to technology, we rarely speak to people. See the world from a different lens: without Google.

You can do this with friends or alone. Spend the day discovering local shops, avoiding chain restaurants, and trying street food from small vendors.

If it starts getting dark and you’re still lost, use Gmaps to get back home. Your safety is always a priority. Notice how you feel after wandering around without Google all day.

Enjoy Your Single Season This Spring!
